"It went so much better than I thought it was going to go...I definitely expected meltdown city from both kids. You were great with them! My son woke up asking about Miss Debbie! " this Mom of 2
Awww that's so great to hear from a Mom with small children after their Family Portrait Session with me. That makes everything so worth it. I want Families to have an awesome experience and look back on their session and have great memories! Not ugh that was terrible, like I have with my own family portraits from walmart and sears back in the day. haha

"What makes you different from other photographers is that you are very flexible and easy to work with. You weren’t preoccupied with getting a certain shot in a certain lighting. If something did not work, you did not get frustrated you tried something different which was a huge lifesaver with the kids. You also gave us positive feedback along the way and involved us in the decision making as to how we wanted our session to go. Nothing felt forced."
Wow! I'm so honored that this Mom feels this way!
"It was a very natural and relaxed experience. It honestly did not even feel like we were getting our pictures taken. It was as if we just went for a walk with our kids and you just happened to be there taking pictures."
"When we got home that night my daughter asked when we would take pictures with Miss Debbie again. The other daughter is concerned that we don't have enough picture frames in the house for all the pictures you took haha. I'd say the session was a success" A Happy Mom of 4 kids under 5 years old
That's the email I got from this Mom after she saw her gallery online for the first time. It warms my heart that people love their images, but most of all that they had an awesome experience. I'm all about making sure that the kids enjoy themselves and Mom doesn't feel stressed during the photoshoot.

I've had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family for years now....ever since the oldest son was 1 year old. They now have 3 little boys. The older ones love the new little baby brother and it was so cute to see them interact.

What's it like to work with me? Eeeek! I think I'm goofy, silly, giggly, clumsy, and sometimes fumble with my words. But this Mom seems to think otherwise. Enjoy this interview I did with a self-proclaimed perfectionist Mom of 2 .
P.S. - If you would like more information about Summer Family Portraits, click HERE. I'm only taking a few sessions, so there are limited spots available.
How was having a summer portrait session different than the fall?
Figuring out to what to wear is easier in the summer. I like that it was warm and I didn't have to worry about the girls being chilly and needing a coat cause I don't want a picture of coats.
How am I different than others? What makes me stand out?
I like that you are very laid back and calm. I like that I don't feel rushed. You aren't frazzled by my kids not cooperating even though it irritates me. I let it go cause I know it doesn't bother you, with some people it would and that would make me uneasy and less relaxed.
How would you describe a portrait session with me?
I like that you have a plan in mind of what you want, but are flexible enough to capture the spontaneous as well. I'm a planner so I like that you have somewhat of an idea of what you are wanting otherwise people lose their patience waiting for a photographer to figure out how they want to pose people or even non posed things.
How would you describe working with me?
I like that you encourage us to just be us and do what comes natural in how we interact. When you get a good shot you tell me, it makes me excited and keeps me engaged, and my anticipation high of seeing the final results.
What worries or fears did you have going into the session?
I'm a natural worrier and deep down a perfectionist. I always worry about if my clothing choices are good enough, will I look okay in the photos typical woman worries when having your photograph taken. Those are all ones I had before hand but then I remember the ones I've done before and remember you aren't going to let me look stupid whether it's my clothes or how I'm posed there is a big amount of trust there so then I stop spazzing out and enjoy myself.
How did you feel after your session?
I always feel excited after a session it's like Christmas and I can't wait to see what they look like and 9 times out of 10 it's the most amazing ego boost in the world. I have people coming up to me and telling me how much they love the pictures and how well they turned out and how good I look etc. It's like the biggest high ever and erases all the previous worries.
What are you planning to use your pictures for?
The majority of my pictures get stuck on the cloud and I forget to do stuff with them however, I also print them out mostly around holidays and I make the hubby a calendar every year called a year of his girls with pictures of me and the girls so I always use them for that. These will be hung on the wall I'm wanting to update all our pictures and incorporate more of our second child because right now all of the ones on the wall are all of our first born.

Beautiful September day, a little foggy, but still gorgeous. Just touches of the beginning of autumn with goldenrods still in the open fields and leaves just starting to turn from green to yellow. I love how they wore shades of blue to pop against the greens and yellows of the farm land and dirt road.

I don't normally do extended family shoots, but I love this family so much I couldn't say no. They are great friends of mine and of my daughter's. We all go to the same church and our daughters have grown up in school, softball, and youth group together.
They live on beautiful property in Riner and the evening light was just gorgeous. We were able to shoot in a wide open field at sunset and in their backyard for a beautiful green summer feel.
